“A truly lovely find. We loved how it was furnished, and the ceramic stove warmed us up after a windy April ride. Cooked a very decent meal in the well-equipped kitchen before a deep sleep in the quiet, comfortable bedrooms. Clearly loved by the fishing community.”

“We really enjoyed our holiday in Kåre and Malene's cosy house. Firewood was ready, so we could easily light the tiled stove for warmth. The surroundings were very peaceful, and we loved the sheep grazing along the river. Many thanks for a lovely stay!”

Nordic minimalist, made for good food and deep rest

Dressed in a Nordic minimalist style — all light colours and clean, warm lines — it is, we think, the cosiest house in Mörrum. At its heart sits an open, French-modern kitchen built for food lovers, and a modern bathroom. Large windows bring a direct view of the Mörrum river indoors, so the water is with you from the moment you wake.

Two fireplaces give the house its evening glow: light one, pour a glass of red wine, and settle in with a good book while the river runs by outside. High-speed fibre WiFi runs throughout, so you can switch off completely or stay connected, as you please.

One of the World's Finest Salmon Rivers

The Mörrum River is renowned among anglers the world over, and for one reason above all: the size of the fish. Here you can cast for some of the largest Atlantic salmon and sea trout on earth, on Sweden's most celebrated salmon water.

The classic pools run from 1 to 32 over about 7 km — part of a fishery of roughly 18 km across five stretches — and the legendary Pool 15 is a one-minute walk from the house. The river meanders through lush Swedish forest with a beautiful mix of rapids and slow-flowing water. The salmon and sea trout season runs from 1 March to 30 September.

When to Fish Mörrum

Mar–Apr
Spring · high water

High, cold water — about 100 to 30 m³/s and 0–10 °C. Salmon and sea trout run every stretch; fish deep and slow with sinking lines and bright flies.

May–Jun
Warming, dropping flow

The water falls to roughly 30 to 10 m³/s and warms toward 20 °C. Both species are on most beats — switch to smaller, darker flies and lighter tackle.

Jul–Sep
Summer & autumn

Low, stable flows (about 7 to 15 m³/s) and warmer water, 13–25 °C, fish well across all stretches. Summer night fishing is very effective, and autumn brings the sea trout.
